Join us this December at the Professional Golfers’ Association Annual Lunch where we have a fantastic afternoon of festive entertainment planned including our special guest of honour, one of England’s most successful golfer’s of all time, Manchester’s very own Mark James.
The PGA Lunch is a great occasion to entertain clients, colleagues and friends, where you and your guests will enjoy a fabulous 3 course lunch before sitting back to be entertained by our guest speakers . This is one hospitality occasion you won’t want to miss.
Mark is one of England’s most successful golfers with 7 top 10 finishes on the European Tour and 4 top 5 finishes in the Open. He went on to qualify for the Seniors Tour and whilst playing out in the USA, became the first European to win a Major on the Champion’s Tour.
The Manchester born golfer also played in 7 Ryder Cups between 1977 and 1995 and was at the centre of one of the most infamous sporting events of all time when he Captained the 1999 European Ryder Cup side in what became known as the ‘Battle of Brookline.’ He went on to publish a best-selling book ‘Into the Bear Pit’, an inside story into the events that took place out in Massachusetts which are still considered today to be some of the worst examples of bad sportsmanship.
A regular and popular golf commentator for the BBC, Mark is without doubt one of the most interesting characters in golf and we’re guaranteed a brilliant afternoon in his company.
The brilliant comedian Ian Moore will complete the afternoon’s entertainment in his own inimitable style. As well as being a sought after comedian achieving great success on the London and National circuits, Ian is a regular guest on BBC5 Live’s “Fighting Talk” & BT Sport’s “The Football’s On”. At the famous London Comedy Store London Ian is a regular headliner and following a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival went on to appear alongside the likes of Jimmy Carr and Lee Mack at the pinnacle of all comedy festivals – Montreal’s “Just for Laughs”.
“One of the Country’s top comedians” The Guardian
“Don’t miss a single word … Moore is a cultured comic” The London Evening Standard
Our host for the afternoon is Sandy Jones, former Chief Executive of the PGA and one of the game’s most respected figures. After over 25 years in the role of Chief Executive, Sandy has recently stepped aside but will still play an active role within the Association as an Executive President and a trustee of the Associations Benevolent Fund.
