The PFA Lunches
The Professional Footballers’ Association was formed on 2nd December 1907 and is the world’s longest established professional sportsperson’s union. The aims of the PFA are to protect, improve and negotiate the conditions, rights and status of all professional players by collective bargaining agreements.
In 2014 the PFA lunches were launched and in excess of 1200 guests across both London and Manchester welcomed the footballing legend and quite possibly the funniest footballing speaker, Harry Redknapp to these exciting new events. As well as hearing from Harry guests enjoyed entertainment from the award winning comedian Gary Marshall and hosts, broadcasters Gary Newbon and Mark Clemmit. In 2015 we were honoured to welcome the England manager Roy Hodgson to both the London and Manchester lunches. It’s not every day you get to sit down to lunch with the England manager and Roy certainly enthralled the audiences with a great personal insight into his career, the day he received the call to take on the biggest job in English football and many other fascinating stories from his 40 year managerial career.
The popularity of the lunches in London and Manchester and the demand for the events in other cities around the UK will see the launch of additional events in 2016.
