The PGA Lunches
The Professional Golfers’ Association was formed in 1901 and in 2001, as part of their centenary celebrations an annual lunch in London was launched. Outstanding players from the world of golf have been honoured at this prestigious event including Ryder Cup Winning Captains Paul McGinley, José Maria Olazábal, Colin Montgomerie, Tony Jacklin, Sam Torrance, Bernard Gallagher and Ian Woosnam, along with star players Ian Poulter, Seve Ballesteros, Darren Clarke, Padraig Harrington, Paul Lawrie, Nick Faldo, Peter Alliss and Corey Pavin, the first American to receive the PGA’s Special Recognition Award.
Paul Lawrie, the Open and Ryder Cup champion, was our very special guest in 2015 and continued the tradition of giving all of our guests a real sense of the challenges that face today’s players and the high’s and low’s of playing at the games highest level. A witty and very funny guy who delighted everyone. In December 2016 we had the great pleasure of welcoming one of the country’s greatest players, “Mr Ryder Cup” himself, Ian Poulter. To a crowd of over 1000, and with brilliant humor and charisma, Ian gave everyone a fascinating insight of his spectacular career which along with some great questions from members of the audience made for one very memorable lunch.
We have organised and overseen this event since its conception and in addition to the lunch in London have established two additional lunches in Glasgow and Manchester which are equally as popular, this year’s guest in Manchester was the 2014 Ryder Cup winning golfer Jamie Donaldson and in Glasgow, the “Belgian Bomber” Nicolas Colsaerts. Each year the PGA Lunches attract a combined audience of over 2000 guests, many of whom return year after year. The great thing about the lunches, you don’t have to be a avid golf fan to enjoy the afternoon and the speakers, a good number of our guests just enjoy the occasion and time spent away from the office in good company! We are honoured to work with the PGA and be a part of these fantastic annual occasions.
